Ten months after the Russian invasion, Ukraine is experiencing the biggest humanitarian crisis in Europe since World War II. Nearly a third of those displaced by the conflict are from the Kharkiv region, the country's second largest city of the country.
According to a recent IOM study, 28% of the 6.8 million internally displaced people (IDPs) in Ukraine are from the Kharkiv Oblast. The humanitarian needs of those who chose to stay or were unable to flee are immense.
Since the beginning of the war, Polonais sans Frontières, now The Small Projects Fund, has been supporting Ukraine and its remote regions to provide effective humanitarian aid to the country.
Most of the roads leading to the remote villages in the Kharkhiv Oblast were destroyed. In some places are impossible to access, except through fields.
Following an initial request from the mayor of Mala Danilivka, a town near Kharkiv, on September 13th and 14th, TSPF provided food aid to residents of isolated camps. We were able to finance the distribution of 70 food kits.
Thanks to your donations, this sponsorship has be able to continue. By the end of November, we had funded 141 additional food kits. The total budget for the whole project was 1500€.
These packages of basic necessities were distributed to elderly and disabled people, who had been left almost without ressources since the beginning of the war.
