🇺🇦 Kherson lives on, whatever happens. The city is under heavy bombardment every day. Schools are unable to open their doors and are forced to teach exclusively online, which represents a real challenge for many families, especially for the youngest children who should have been entering a classroom for the very first time in a few days' time.
For these first-year pupils, discovering school should be an exciting moment, not just a reminder of the war. That's why, to mark the start of the new school year and Ukraine's Independence Day, The Small Projects Team, in collaboration with our valued partners at Union of Help to Kherson (biz.ks.ua), has prepared special binders filled with everything they need to start learning: notebooks, pens, pencils, paints, modelling clay and much more.
It's a way of bringing a sense of celebration and normality, so that these children feel like real pupils, even if their lessons take place on Zoom.
They represent the future of Ukraine, and even in difficult times, we want them to feel supported, loved and encouraged.
A heartfelt thank you to all those who make this possible.
Note: the children's faces are not blurred because all the parents have given us permission to publish their children's smiles
