Our programme to install computer rooms is continuing, with 30 new computers sent in recent weeks to centres run by our partners in Poltava, Smila and Zhytomyr. These installations are designed to build local capacity, promote digital inclusion and support vulnerable groups in very different contexts.
In Poltava, 10 computers were handed over to the NGO Union des Femmes Actives VULYK, which supports women from vulnerable groups - displaced persons, single mothers, women with disabilities, the elderly, etc. - in their efforts to improve their lives. The aim is to create an environment conducive to self-support and learning. The workstations will cover the basics of computing, digital culture, information technology and social network marketing (SMM). A programme adapted for blind people will also be acquired. The space will also host introductory computer courses for children.
In Smila, 12 computers have been installed in a school specialising in artistic training. A computer room has been fitted out to provide children with a digital space for educational purposes. This new equipment will enable digital skills to be integrated into creative learning, complementing the artistic lessons provided.
In Zhytomyr, 8 computers have been delivered to a rehabilitation centre for soldiers. The equipment will help to improve the administrative management of the centre and build the capacity of the team in place. It could also eventually be used for training activities for beneficiaries, with a view to professional reintegration or personal development.
Thank you to our partner Agir Ensemble pour l'Ukraine (aepu.eu), which supplied the computers.
