Energy solidarity: a 300 kva generator to support vital infrastructure in Ukraine
The Small Projects Team's commitment to supporting Ukraine's resilience has reached a new logistical milestone. We coordinated the delivery to Ukraine of a 300 kva generator, a 3.5 tonne colossus, transported from south-west France to the Ukrainian coordination centres.
This operation was made possible thanks to the exceptional generosity of Teréga (https://www.terega.fr/). As a major player in gas transport and storage infrastructure in south-west France, Teréga is fully committed to the issues of sovereignty and energy transition. By offering this high-power facility, Teréga is providing a concrete and immediate response to the major energy challenges facing the country.
A generator of this power is not just emergency equipment; it is an infrastructure capable of taking over critical sites. In concrete terms, this 300 kva device can supply :
- A medium-sized hospital: ensuring the continuous operation of operating theatres, intensive care respirators and the cold chain for medicines.
- A water pumping station: maintaining access to drinking water for several thousand residents.
- A district heating plant: vital in winter, it supplies heat pumps for several large buildings.
- An industrial bakery: guaranteeing the production of thousands of loaves of bread a day for the local population and displaced persons.
The generator was handed over to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy. As the orchestra leader on the ground, the Ministry coordinates the collection and allocation of this equipment according to the most urgent priorities. This shipment will add to the strategic stocks currently being built up thanks to international donors. The aim is to anticipate the critical needs of the coming winter and to ensure that basic services never come to a halt, whatever the circumstances.
The success of such a logistical operation, involving the transport of a 3.5-tonne piece to a conflict zone, depends on exemplary collaboration. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to :
- Teréga, for its crucial donation and its spirit of solidarity.
- The team of the Special Envoy of the President of the Republic, behind this operation.
- The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, for its rigour and strategic management.
- HK Courses, our carrier, who demonstrated exemplary commitment and flexibility to ensure flawless logistics.
Each project contributes to the resilience of a people. Together, we are continuing to take action to keep essential services on their feet.
