Since the launch of the Winter Hugs, To help the Ukrainian population cope with the extreme winter conditions following the Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, we decided very early on to give priority to local suppliers.
Our objective was clear: to free ourselves from Chinese suppliers, while taking account of the humanitarian emergency. We had to be able to distribute as many bags as possible, without compromising cost control or speed of deployment.
Today, we are delighted to announce that we have identified a workshop in Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast, which is now making these bags for Winter Hugs. The pricing conditions we have obtained have enabled us to set up an entirely Ukrainian supply chain.
And so, Winter Hugs is no longer limited to responding to a humanitarian emergency. The programme is also helping to create local jobs and directly support the Ukrainian economy, in a particularly difficult context.
Thanks to you, over 3,000 bags have already been distributed. We want to continue this programme until the end of winter, to help as many families as possible, and we need your support to do so.
A bag costs 14 euros. 14 is the price of a milder winter, a safer night's sleep and a little more dignity for someone facing the cold. Thank you for continuing to help us.
