Micro-Humanitarian Instant Impact

The Octopus amputee football club in Odesa has received its new shirts! This is the very first club we have helped to set up in Ukraine as part of our UAmpfoot programme (more info). The second was created in Lutsk (see our previous article).

This week's good news: thanks to new donations, we will be able to support the creation of three additional clubs. The first will be in Zhytomyr, and will be run by Ouest-France Solidarités (ouestfrance-solidarite.org) which makes this possible. Present in Ukraine since the first days of the large-scale invasion, this French organisation plays a discreet but essential role on the ground, with a sincere and constant commitment to the most vulnerable populations.

Two other clubs will also soon be launched, this time with financial support from the American NGO Hope For Ukraine (hfu.org). This organisation, deeply rooted in humanitarian aid since 2014, is redoubling its efforts to support displaced families, hospitals, children and now also amputees through our UAmpfoot programme.

A huge thank you to these two committed partners. Their trust and generosity give us the strength to continue our work, and above all, to build sustainable projects that bring hope.

These clubs are not just sports grounds: they are places of rebirth. For amputees - the majority of them soldiers, whose numbers have exceeded 100,000 since the start of the large-scale invasion - these clubs represent a place where they can rebuild their lives, physically, mentally and socially.
