The first baby boxes have been delivered to mothers in three communities in Donetsk oblast: Mangush, Sartana and Nikolske.
These are women who have had to move to other parts of Ukraine because of the war, and who have given birth to children far from home.
This project was initiated by our long-standing partner, the Volunteering and Help Center (vdc.in.ua). We have been working with them and the French NGO ASF Actions Santé Femmesby thinking about the content of the packages and looking for partners.
This project aims to help mothers and their babies by providing them with what they need during the first few months after birth: clothes, hygiene products, cosmetics and baby food. But above all, we wanted to give them attention and delight them with special gifts, such as a traditional embroidered shirt (the famous vyshyvanka) for the baby, a nightlight playing Ukrainian lullabies, and interactive toys. Here are photos of the first distributions.
This project is still being funded, and we're looking for funds to reach our distribution target of 1,000 boxes.
