The situation
As a result of the bombings, more than a third of Ukraine's electricity generation capacity is now out of service, and more than a million households live without electricity. Energy infrastructure is the new favorite target of Russian strikes, including infrastructure in the West of the country, which were, until then, spared. All regions are now affected, with the national operator Ukrenergo carrying out power cuts to stabilize the network. The blackouts are becoming more frequent and longer, plunging Ukrainians into darkness.
Challenges
Against this backdrop, local authorities, particularly those in rural areas, regularly contact us as the winter approaches, which is very harsh in Ukraine, to help them obtain generators.
Electricity is the foundation of all vital services. Access to drinking water, healthcare, communications (essentially to alert populations of bombardments) depend on access to electricity.
Our impact
We are looking for depreciated generators that can be donated, second-hand generators that can be bought at a preferential price and financial donations to finance these purchases and transport to the heart of the country. We are looking for power from 10 to 200KVa and more. Our aim is to equip as many villages as possible before winter sets in. If you think you can help us with equipment, please contact us.
