Micro-Humanitarian Instant Impact

From a capital at war to the world championships

Brigantina Sports Club is located in Kiev. More than 2,000 children train in the club, including more than 20 internally displaced persons from the occupied territories, and many of the athletes are members of the national youth team in modern pentathlon (swimming, running, shooting, fencing, horse jumping). Brigantina is the best team of young athletes in Ukraine in different categories (U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19), its athletes occupy the best places at national championships, successfully represent Ukraine at international competitions, and are in the TOP-3 of the Ukrainian ranking in each age category.

The team

The club has seven young athletes in the Ukrainian national modern pentathlon team: Oleksandr Melnyk, Oleksandr Chernyshev, Oleksandr Klymenko, Sofia Urbanovich, Anna Dudka, Anastasiia Melnyk and Anna Babich. They are preparing for the European Championship in Lithuania and the World Championship in Egypt.

The coaches

The coaches (Anna Derkach, Ruslan Moseykin) are experienced athletes who are members of the Ukrainian national fencing and modern pentathlon team.
In mid-March, fencing coach Oleksandr Panin was conscripted into the army on the eastern front. We hope he will return to the club as soon as possible to resume training. This is the reality of war...

The club needs help

All fencing equipment factories in Ukraine are located in the occupied territories and the club has no means to buy equipment, not only because of lack of money but also because fencing equipment is simply not available in the shops.

To continue training and competing, the club urgently needs fencing equipment.
